This simple recipe has great flavor and looks lovely as well. It can be put together in just a few minutes and is the perfect appetizer or snack when served with bread or crackers. The blend of fresh herbs you use is up to you. Mint, parsley, thyme and basil are all good choices.

Instead of serving fresh goat cheese and herbs as an appetizer, you can also use it as a spread on sandwiches or crumble the cheese into salads.

Prep Time: 10 minutes

Total Time: 10 minutes

Yield: 4-6 servings

  • One 4 ounce or 11 ounce fresh goat cheese log
  • a few tablespoons to 1/3 cup roughly chopped fresh herbs
  • drizzle of olive oil
  • optional additions: a pinch of black pepper, sea salt, red pepper flakes

This recipe is so simple it hardly even needs instructions. Just sprinkle the goat cheese with herbs and drizzle a little bit of olive oil on top.

What is a Fresh Goat Cheese Log?

A fresh goat cheese log is soft and creamy goat cheese that does not have a rind and is in the shape of a, well, a log. The flavor of fresh goat cheese is tangy, lemony and milky. It is the perfect blank slate for other flavors. In addition to herbs, you can flavor fresh goat cheese with spices, flavored oils, sun dried tomatoes, olives and nuts.
