Corn with browned butter has a rich, nutty flavor that is a step up from simply adding butter to corn. A generous garnish of cheese completes this dish and will definitely have your family and friends asking for seconds.

Any hard cheese can be used in this recipe. Try Pecorino Romano, Parmigiano-Reggiano, Manchego or sharp Cheddar.

Prep Time: 5 minutes

Cook Time: 10 minutes

Total Time: 15 minutes

Yield: 2-4 servings

Ingredients:

  • 6 ears of corn or 3-4 cups frozen corn
  • 4 tablespoons butter
  • 1/4 cup grated hard cheese (or more to taste)
  • 2 tablespoons chopped parsley

Preparation:

If using fresh corn, shave the kernels off the cob with a knife.

Over medium heat, melt the butter until it has a deep, brown color and noticeably nutty aroma, about 3-5 minutes.

Add the corn, stir a few times and turn the heat to medium low. Cover and cook for five minutes, stirring once or twice.

Stir in cheese and parsley. Add salt to taste.
