The cheesemaking facility is in Point Reyes Station, California. The Cowgirl Creamery has retail stores in San Francisco,Point Reyes Station, and Washington D.C.

Best Cheeses:

  • Mt. Tam - Triple Creme
  • Red Hawk - Washed rind Triple Creme
  • St. Pat - Made only in spring and wrapped in nettle leaves
  • Pierce Pt.- Made only in fall and winter, washed in wine and rolled in dried herbs

Cheesemakers:

Sue Conley and Peggy Smith were chefs in the Bay Area before founding the Cowgirl Creamery in 1994. Their cheeses are all made with organic cow's milk from Northern California's Straus Family Creamery. Visitors can watch the cheesemaking process at their cheesemaking facility and gourmet food store, Tomales Bay Foods. The Cowgirls own two other retail stores that sell the best American and imported artisanal cheeses available.
